Augmentative & Alternative Communication
For some individuals, speech may be non-existent or so garbled that they require an assistive device to aid with communication. Mary-Ellen is a registered Authorizer of Communication Aids with the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
She can assess needs and assist with applications for funding. As well, Mary-Ellen has an interest in emerging technologies and how they can be used to supplement language processing and cognition.
